QAS Software includes New Address Type Indicator

BOSTON, May 8 / / -- Retailers, who have long struggled with managing customer data from disparate channels, now have a complete customer address validation solution: QuickAddress for Multichannel Retail, released today by QAS, an Experian(R) company. The product contains QAS' core address validation products, as well as new Address Type Indicator functionality that makes it easier for retailers to select the lowest-cost carrier for each address.

Address Type Indicator
QuickAddress Pro and QuickAddress Pro Web in QuickAddress for Multichannel Retail now includes Address Type Indicator, which categorizes addresses as Business, Residential, or Mixed. The feature helps retailers make better decisions about which shipping method is cheaper for a given address.

Address Type Indicator indicates residential delivery information by synthesizing two Experian data sets: the INSOURCE(SM) consumer file containing records on 215 million individuals, and the National Business Database, which holds records on 15 million businesses. The feature goes a step beyond simple residential/business indications, by providing information on whether a given address is an apartment building or a single residence, and whether or not it is currently occupied.
