New Residential Pendent Sprinkler Protects 20 x 20 ft (6,1 x 6,1 m) Rooms

Hastings, Michigan - The Viking Corporation, a global leader in fixed fire protection technology, announces the availability of a new cULus listed 4.9 (71) K factor residential pendent sprinkler(VK468). This latest addition to Viking's leading Freedom® line of residential products offers industry-leading flow and pressure characteristics at coverage areas up to 20 x 20 ft (6,1 x 6,1 m). The new VK468 is also available in a domed concealed model.
The VK468 compliments Viking's existing VK438, 4.9 (71) K factor residential sprinkler. Both products are listed with the same flows and pressures for 12 x 12 ft. (3,7 x 3,7 m) through 18 x 18 ft. (5,5 x 5,5m) rooms; however, the VK468 also includes the 20 x 20 ft. (6,1 x 6,1 m) coverage area. Both the new VK468 and the existing VK438 products are cULus listed for ceilings with beams. The VK438 continues to be listed for sloped ceilings up to an 8/12 (33.7°) pitch.
The new 4.9 (71) K factor sprinkler is available in 155°F (68°C) and 175°F (79°C) temperature ratings. For the concealed version, the domed cover plates are available in chrome, white, ivory, and black standard finishes, as well as over 800 custom colors. The temperature rating of the domed cover assembly is 135°F (57°C).
