Capital Safety Introduces the ExoFit(TM) XP Rescue Harness
Hybrid design combines rope access positioning with fall arrest features
RED WING, Minn. - March 3, 2008 - DBI-SALA, a Capital Safety brand, introduces the ExoFit(TM) XP Rescue Harness, which combines the ultimate comfort of an ExoFit(TM) XP fall arrest harness with the essential features needed for rope access, positioning and suspension.
The ExoFit(TM) XP Rescue Harness is ideal for those requiring fall arrest with occasional rope rescue needs as well as those performing rigging operations. The harness incorporates connection points on the waist and chest that provide attachments for high and low-angle rope rescue, while the five-inch hip pad with tool rings provide a convenient method for carrying and accessing equipment while at heights. Leg and shoulder straps with removable padding and flexible vertical straps provide maximum comfort while suspended.
While other rope rescue harnesses lack in proper fall arrest components, the ExoFit(TM) XP offers features that ensure maximum comfort, safety and security. The sub-pelvic strap, which is seldom found on rope rescue harnesses, absorbs forces in the event of a fall. The vest style harness with removable padding prevents uncomfortable chaffing and rubbing commonly found with crossover styles, while the 3-D mesh lining wicks moisture keeping the worker cool.
"The ExoFit(TM) XP Rescue Harness is ideal for companies expanding their rescue programs, and training staff in a variety of rescue techniques such as rope access," states Nate Bohmbach, product marketing manager for soft goods with Capital Safety. "The need for both high quality fall arrest and rope access work is beginning to mesh. With the ExoFit XP(TM) Rescue Harness, we are closing a gap between two very different lines of full body support equipment."
The ExoFit(TM) XP harness is based on the concept of a single piece of material constructed in the shape of an "X" that wraps around the worker for the ultimate in no-tangle donning. The spring loaded "stand-up" dorsal D-ring and quick connect buckles ensure a quick, easy connection. The ExoFit(TM) XP meets all applicable industry standards including OSHA and ANSI Z359.
