Endeavor Information Systems Announces General Availability of Endeavor Analyzer(TM)

Web-based Reporting Module Delivers Business Intelligence Capabilities to Libraries Focused on Increasing Patron Service and Satisfaction, Improving Productivity and Decreasing Operating Costs

DES PLAINES, Ill., Sept. 12 -- Endeavor Information Systems (http://www.endinfosys.com/), one of the leading global providers of library management software, today announced the general availability of its analysis and reporting module, Endeavor Analyzer(TM). A Web-based reporting system providing enhanced insights into operational and institutional data, Analyzer brings business intelligence capabilities into the library environment.

Libraries are continually facing pressures to provide higher levels of service to patrons while being constrained by shrinking budgets, fewer staff and limited IT resources. Tasked with realizing efficiencies in this shifting climate, these organizations and their staffs are identifying technology solutions that can assist them in making data-driven decisions.

Analyzer provides sophisticated Web-based reporting and analytic capabilities through an easy-to-use graphical interface that simplifies data collection and evaluation. By monitoring departmental and collection activity, creating customized reports to support special projects or local management needs, and assisting staff in managing workflows and events, Analyzer helps increase patron service and satisfaction, improve staff productivity, and decrease library operating costs.

Currently, Analyzer can be used in conjunction with Voyager(R), Endeavor's flagship integrated library system (ILS). This same technology is built directly into Endeavor Meridian(TM), the company's electronic resource management (ERM) system, delivering business intelligence and reporting capabilities to both solutions.

Ultimately, Endeavor plans to offer Analyzer reporting functionality throughout the company's foundation layer of products. In addition to Voyager and Meridian, Endeavor's foundation layer is comprised of Curator(TM), a comprehensive solution for searching, creating and managing digital resources; and Journals Onsite(TM), an enterprise-level system enabling libraries to locally store, search and browse electronic journals.

The Colorado School of Mines, Education Management Corporation (EDMC), Monash University Malaysia, the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT), the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA) and the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth are among the early adopters of Analyzer. By leveraging the software's powerful analysis engine to produce usage, financial, productivity and ad hoc reports, these and other institutions will be able to make more informed, evidence-based decisions regarding their library collections.

"Analyzer represents a significant milestone in Endeavor's long-term strategy of helping libraries use readily-available information to make better decisions about collection development, service deployment and more," said Kathryn Harnish, director of Product Management at Endeavor Information Systems. "Endeavor recognized the need to simplify reporting processes -- from authoring to distribution -- and, with Analyzer, responds to this need. Not only does Analyzer offer a number of pre-defined reports, but it also includes easy-to-use tools for ad hoc reporting and analysis of library activity, allowing both novice and expert report authors to access the data necessary to make key decisions."
