Westinghouse-Type Replacement Panel Switches for Utilities



WEYMOUTH, MA - Type W and Type W-2 "Westinghouse" replacement switches for the power industry are available exclusively from Electroswitch. Should one of these panel-mount instrument or control switches fails or show signs of wear, Electroswitch will manufacture the replacement switch that is a perfect match in form, fit, and function.

The Type W Switch is available with maintained, momentary, slip, or lateral contacts. Contacts are silver-plated and self-wiping for low resistance. Contacting is available as nonshorting (break-before-make) or shorting (make-before-break). One side of the switch housing slides out for easy contact inspection, and each stud is numbered for terminal identification. The standard black nameplate can be engraved per customer requirements. This switch can be built with up to 10 decks, up to 10 poles, and up to 12 positions. It has a continuous rating of 20 amps at 600 volts and is available with various interrupt ratings (5-50A at 120-600VAC or 8A at 125VDC). The control-switch configuration features a mechanical red/green target and spring return to normal (vertical) position.

The Type W-2 Switch features a rotary roller action design with up to six rollers. Roller contacts are self-aligning and require no pressure adjustment for the life of the switch. The spring-actuated design provides for momentary, maintained, or combination contacting. All contacts are silver-plated for low resistance and enclosed in a glass polyester frame. Contacting can be nonshorting (break-before-make) or shorting (make-before-break). This switch can be built with up to eight decks, up to 48 poles, and up to 12 positions. It has a continuous rating of 20 amps at 600 volts and is available with various interrupt ratings (8-30A at 120-600VAC or 1-5A at 125-250VDC). The instrument-switch configuration features a pull-to-lock handle. The control-switch configuration features a mechanical red/green target, spring return to normal (vertical) position, a positive detent mechanism, and optional slip or lateral contacts. Application-specific configurations include ammeter, voltmeter, and circuit-breaker switches.
