Original Press Release:

Aurora® Inverters Deliver Efficiencies up to 97.8%, Increasing R.O.I. in 3kW to 12.5kW PV Installations

Camarillo, CA - June 10th, 2008 - Power-One, Inc. (Nasdaq: PWER), a leading provider of power conversion and management solutions, introduces five new series in the Aurora® Family of renewable-energy inverters. These grid-connected products offer a unique combination of ultra-high efficiencies, installer-friendly designs, long service life, and competitive initial acquisition costs; significantly increasing return on investment in photovoltaic installations from 3kW to 12.5kW.

The Aurora® PVI-3.0, PVI-3.6, and PVI-4.2 Series provide 230VAC single-phase outputs rated at 3.0kW, 3.6kW, and 4.2kW; at up to 96.8% efficiency (Euro 96%). Other features include full-rated output power available up to 50°C ambient, and a 90 to 580VDC input range.

Applications flexibility is enhanced by optional parallel-array-input configuration capabilities, and input-blocking diodes on PVI-4.2 models. A five-year warranty is extendable to twelve years as an option.

Aurora® PVI-10.0 and PVI-12.5 Series inverters provide three-phase 400VAC outputs (with or without neutral) rated at 10kW and 12.5kW, at up to 97.8% efficiency (Euro 97.3%). These products feature a 200 to 850VDC input range, and a flat efficiency curve that ensures industry-leading performance across a wide array of operating conditions. Reliability is enhanced by an industry-first string-inverter
design that does not use electrolytic capacitors. A ten-year warranty is standard; extended-warranty periods are optionally available.

All of these latest-generation Aurora® products offer dual-input sections with independent, high-speed MPPTs that optimize energy harvesting from multiple PV strings oriented in different directions.

Additional features include: grid-connected operation certified to international standards, integrated RS-485 and USB serial communications, IP65 (NEMA 4) rated enclosures, and optional DC input disconnect switches.
