Minicom Launches Serial Remote Power Switch for Secure and Faster Data Center Management

JERUSALEM, August 8 -- Minicom Advanced Systems is proud to announce the launch of the Serial Remote Power Switch (Serial RPS) www.minicom.com/kvm_serial_rps.htm. Seamlessly connected to Minicom's IP Control, the Serial RPS allows the user to power on, power off and reboot up to 128 remote connected servers using the same client interface used to access and control them.

According to Benny Hayumi, Minicom's Product Manager, "The Serial RPS adds power management to the range of IP Control's functions making it a complete all-round solution. Now an IT administrator or data center operator only has to navigate one interface where previously there were two. This means more secure and faster resolution of server problems, less downtime, better use of IT resources and reduces the chances of errors being made."

A leading innovator and manufacturer of KVM switches and KVM/IP access solutions for the SMB and data center environment, Minicom utilizes serial capability, to allow the Serial RPS to seamlessly connect to Minicom's IP Control. The pre-configured plug and play device ensures an easy installation.
