The new BusWorks(TM) 900MB series low-cost remote I/O modules interface analog and discrete I/O signals to a Modbus network. The multi-channel I/O modules are only one inch wide and mount compactly on a DIN rail. With up to four channels per analog module ($350) or twelve discrete channels per module ($275), these modules provide a more cost-effective solution for monitoring several I/O points than block I/O devices designed for high-volume signal processing. A variety of analog input sensors are supported including DC voltage, DC current, thermocouple, RTD, and frequency/pulse signals. Built-in relay trips enable local limit alarms and on/off control either under host control or independent of the network. Analog output modules transmit DC voltage or current signals to chart recorders, display devices, variable frequency drives, positioners, or motors based on data received from the network. Discrete I/O modules monitor and control on/off and high/low levels of industrial equipment and electronic devices.
