New Remote Control Switch Designed To Avert Network Disaster

Electro Standards Laboratories, Cranston, RI, has just announced the successful integration of its new Model 7223 DB15 A/B Switch with 10BASE-T LAN Access into a banking environment. This switch, installed in a Telecommunications Disaster Recovery Network, allows multiple alternate-path switching to increase network survivability and reliability in the event of a disaster.

The switch can be controlled on-site manually with a front-panel pushbutton or from any remote location via a LAN connection to the unit 's 10BASE-T rear panel port. Using the Remote Control method, a standard Web browser such as MS Explorer pointed at the IP address to the unit will launch a graphical user interface to the switch. Easy-to-read screens provide information on System and Network Configuration.
