Original Press Release:

Relief Valve for Lined Metal Piping

Summary: Plast-O-Matic Valves, Inc. has introduced a Teflon® diaphragm relief valve with an intrinsic flange for use with lined steel piping. The all-thermoplastic valve provides the rigidity and high purity required for lined pipe, eliminating the need for heavier and more costly lined metal valves.

Cedar Grove, New Jersey - Plast-O-Matic Valves, Inc. announces the availability of a Teflon® diaphragm relief valve with an intrinsic flange for lined metal piping systems.

Thermoplastic-lined metal pipe is used in applications requiring either corrosion resistance or high purity and high structural strength. This type of piping employs flanged joints to preserve the integrity of the system. In many cases the pressure relief valves and pump by-pass valves drain to a waste recovery or other subsidiary system. While these secondary valves are not required to be lined metal construction, the flanged connection is still critical. By making the flange an integral part of the thermoplastic body, it eliminates piping nipples and other threaded connections without the added cost of the lined metal construction.

The Teflon diaphragm and plastic body combine to provide a non-leaching, contamination-free relief/by-pass valve. The valve is available with an integral flange connections in Teflon PTFE, Kynar PVDF, and natural, unpigmented polypropylene.
