Relay Monitor indicates alarm conditions.

Press Release Summary:

Solid State Relay Monitor signals loss of ac or dc line current, open load, short circuit, and loss of dc power. It fits between connection terminals and finger-safe cover of standard solid state relay. Monitor shows green LED to indicate normal operation and normally closed dry relay contact opens on alarm. Four models are available to handle voltages ranging from 100-660 Vac, while four others are for 100-500 Vdc ranges.

Solid State Relay Monitor

BRIDGEWATER, MA -A new Solid State Relay Monitor from HBControls signals loss of AC or DC line current, open load, short circuit, and loss of DC power. Eight models are available for different power supplies and line voltages.

Designed to fit between the connection terminals and the finger-safe cover of a standard solid state relay (SSR), the monitor shows a green LED to indicate normal operation. Alarm response time is typically less than 50 mS, and a normally closed dry relay contact (200 VDC/0.5 A max.) opens on alarm. An optional interrupted version forces the SSR's input off every 10 seconds for 150-200 mS to test I/O logic (-I).

Four models of the Solid State Relay Monitor are available to handle AC line voltages ranging from 100 to 660 VAC, while four others are designed for DC loads ranging from 100 to 500 VDC. Within each group are two models for continuous input and two for interrupted input, each designed for one of two voltage ranges: 10- 19 or 20-32 VDC. The control voltages of the monitored SSR can range from 5 to 32 VDC continuous or from 5 to 15 VDC interrupted.

The operating temperature range of the monitor is 0-60° C. Input/output isolation is 4000 Vrms (25º C for 1 sec.). The SSR off-state leakage current is 6 mA rms maximum across the SSR output. Off-state blocking voltage is 1200 Vpk with a maximum variation of 1 minute.

The unit is designed to fit snugly on the SSR. Dimensions are 1.55" x 2.5".
