REGO-FIX® Spotlights Advanced Toolholding Mix and More at Northwest Machine Tool Expo 2015

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – At the Northwest Machine Tool Expo 2015 in AI Marketing’s booth 615, REGO-FIX® will highlight several precision tooling products. The company will show a new innovation for effective tool locking and a one-of-a-kind retrofit coolant-through system for live tooling. Also on display will be a toolholding system that enables quick and uncomplicated tool changing, and a representation of the company’s ER System of collets and holders.

The new slip-proof intRlox mini clamping nuts from REGO-FIX feature a frontal milled slot on their outside diameter that mates perfectly to a corresponding wrench to prevent slippage during the tightening or loosening process. These new clamping nuts, which are suitable for the company’s sealing or cooling disks, have a special surface treatment for increased clamping force and a unique coating that prevents corrosion. intRlox is currently available in ER 11, 16 and 20 sizes for standard versions, and ER 16 and 20 for coolant version. It offers many benefits including improved operator safety due to slip-proof clamping, internal and external cooling, improved chip removal, reduced tool costs and improved productivity.

The company’s retrofit reCool® coolant-through system quickly and cost effectively brings the benefits of internal cooling to the live tooling used in CNC turning operations. Able to convert an existing tooling system to include through-coolant in as little as two minutes, reCool is much more effective in getting coolant to the cutting edge than spray pipes or nozzles. It achieves standard speeds up to 12,000 rpm and pressures up to 1,000 psi. Higher speeds and coolant pressures are available upon request. With reCool, live tools featuring external threads (ISO 15488/DIN 6499) can machine faster and last longer. The system also works in conjunction with REGO-FIX collets, sealing and coolant flush disks, milling cutters and drills with diameters from 0.098" to 1.02".

Expo attendees will be experience the powRgrip Toolholding Collet System, including the recent product line expansions with the PG-S short shank and PG-L long shank powRgrip® collets. The powRgrip system relies on the interference between holder and collet to generate very high clamping forces equal to or higher than shrink-fit holders. Unlike other clamping systems where heat or hydraulics are used to expand the material, the powRgrip uses the mechanical properties of the holder material to generate tremendous gripping force with run-out below 0.0001”. powRgrip collets will hold both carbide and HSS tools.

Other advanced toolholding products presented at the show include the REGO-FIX ER System, the most-commonly used collet chuck system on the market.
