New Series Of Books Provides Plastics Processor With Tools To Tackle Day-To-Day Challenges

Cincinnati, OH ----HANSER GARDNER PUBLICATIONS, the premier source for plastics-related reference and educational materials in North America, had published a new series of books. The PLASTICS POCKET POWER Series was developed with the plastics processor in mind. Its small, 3" x 5" size makes it a convenient resource tool. These books are practical reference tools that contain all of the pertinent data plastics processors need to overcome the day-to-day dilemmas they encounter. The unique spiral binding of these books lets the user easily flip through the pages, mark their most-often used pages, keep the pages flipped open to the information they are interested in, and allows the book to lay flat.

"The books in the PLASTICS POCKET POWER series serve as a reference and starting point for the practicing engineer when being introduced to a new process, a new material or a new design application," said Dr. Tim Osswald, Series Editor and Director of the Polymer Engineering Center and Professor of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Wisconsin- Madison. "The series is also intended to rapidly submerge a new engineer, with limited practical experience, into various plastic materials, plastics processes, and plastics applications."

The first six books of the series are:
* Processing Data for Injection Molding,
* Aging and Chemical Resistance,
* Processing Data for Extrusion,
* Welding,
* Applied Rubber Technology,
* Extrusion Blow Molding.

"They are pocket-sized and condensed, yet clear and comprehensive - that's what makes these books beneficial tools for the everyday processor," stated Christine Strohm, Editorial Director for HANSER GARDNER.

"The books provide information normally scattered throughout books, documents and brochures," added Osswald. "The essential information has been condensed into tables and lists, and material data is presented in an organized manner for generic materials and various processing equipment." Future books in the series include:

* Design Data
* Testing
* Flexible Film Design
* Screw Design
* Mold Design
* Part Design *
* Troubleshooting Extrusion
* Troubleshooting Injection Molding

Each book is 128 pages and costs $24.95. Depending on the number of copies bought, discounts ranging from 15-45% are available for multiple quantity purchases.
