RedPrairie Successfully Completes High Volume Testing and Load Balancing Certification for IBM DB2

Leading Wholesale Grocer and Major Home Improvement Retailer

Milwaukee, WI - RedPrairie Corporation, the world's leading consumer driven optimization company, today announced the successful completion of high volume testing and load balancing certification for DLx® Warehouse running on the IBM DB2 8.2 data server. The testing, conducted at the IBM Innovation Center in Chicago, confirms RedPrairie's support for the high performing, proven database chosen by one of the nation's leading grocery wholesalers and one of the largest home improvement retailers, as well as other RedPrairie customers.

The port and performance testing conducted over a period of two weeks validated the high volume performance of RedPrairie's industry-leading warehouse management system running on IBM's AIX operating system and DB2 database. RedPrairie also successfully completed a proof of concept using IBM's Enterprise Workload Manager to demonstrate DLx Warehouse has met IBM-specified integration standards for their Virtualization Engine solution that can dynamically monitor and manage distributed heterogeneous workloads to achieve user-defined business goals.

Comments Joe Olson, RedPrairie's WMS Development Manager, "This certification provides significant benefit to our customers, to our prospects and to RedPrairie. IBM DB2 is a high performance platform with an attractive price point on which to run our systems. DB2 provides our customers a third option to deploy our system on the platform that best fits the IT infrastructure and staff expertise of their organization. That reduces their training and support costs.

"And because our SOA architecture allows a single set of source code to support all operating systems and database choices," continues Olson, "this new option does not add complexity to our product suite, nor does it add cost or overhead to our customers."

The load balancing capabilities provided by IBM's Enterprise Workload Manager allow customers to better utilize smaller, lower cost servers that require less experienced IT staff to support them. This reduces up front and ongoing maintenance costs while ensuring high levels of service.

Says John Jazwiec, RedPrairie Company Leader, "RedPrairie has long been a leader in providing technology options that best suit the needs of our large and diverse global customer base. Our work with IBM to test and certify our software for high volume environments on the DB2 platform demonstrates our dedication to go the extra mile to ensure we deliver efficient, robust solutions that support our customers' operations and IT infrastructure out of the box."

DLx Warehouse is part of RedPrairie's consumer driven optimization suite for supply chain and retail operations. These solutions are deployed at over 25,000 sites around the world.
