RedPrairie Expands Transportation Management Offerings to Include In-House Hosting Services

Customers can deploy more quickly, with lower up-front expense and reduced IT personnel

Milwaukee, WI -- RedPrairie Corporation, the world's leading consumer driven optimization company, announced today that it is offering in-house hosting services for its DLx® Transportation Management Solution (TMS). The hosting option enables companies to deploy the transportation management solution more quickly, with lower up-front capital expense and reduced IT personnel needs to support the application. The on-demand hosted solution option places tier-one TMS capabilities within reach of midsize and smaller companies, in addition to offering an alternative, cost-effective solution for larger companies. The RedPrairie TMS suite is now offered in three purchasing options, including traditional license, hosted license and software as a service (SaaS).

RedPrairie TMS is available with modular subscription pricing, so customers only pay for the parts of the system necessary for their operations. Mid-size companies are now able to have the same robust solution as licensed by Fortune 1000 companies. Services offered with hosting include disaster recovery, maintenance, IT administration and integration services. Companies can also migrate from a hosted or SaaS agreement to a traditional license down the road, if that model better meets future needs. Additionally, RedPrairie offers an easy migration path from release to release, with RedPrairie staff managing upgrades rather than a customer's internal IT staff.

"Through our hosted services, RedPrairie streamlines the process of implementing our software, allowing companies to focus on running and managing their business, instead of running and managing software. We provide expert resources, accelerating the adoption of the system and enabling companies to get on line rapidly," comments Erv Bluemner, VP of Product Marketing for Transportation Solutions at RedPrairie.

Bluemner continued, "By hosting customer applications within our state-of-the-art IBM Data Center, customers can implement RedPrairie TMS easier, faster and less expensively than otherwise possible."

In June of this year, RedPrairie announced a major TMS upgrade, including global trade management and fleet management capabilities, plus a new lightweight software client. Companies who have recently purchased or implemented RedPrairie TMS include Associated Wholesale Grocers (AWG), Bear Creek, Bon-Ton Department Stores, CoLinx, Fresh Mark, Johns Manville, Pittsburgh Logistics Systems, RR Donnelley and Tubular Steel. AWG is currently implementing the new TMS 2006.1 release.
