MOD Plastic Base Delivers Heavy-Duty Strength In Smooth, Light Design
Ashtabula, OH: Material handling product manufacturer Meese Orbitron Dunne Co., Ashtabula, Ohio (www.RecyclingCarts.com), has introduced a rugged, rotationally molded plastic recycling cart base. Included as standard at no additional charge on the company's best-selling 50P-16R recycling cart, the new, plastic base is rotomolded in one piece from 100% waterproof polyethylene in a proprietary design that offers superior load bearing strength and comparable rigidity to metal bases yet does not rust, corrode or discolor to retain its visual appeal. Molded in a smooth, rounded shape for safety, the plastic cart base also weighs less than metal and wood bases to reduce the overall tare weight and allow comparable payloads to be delivered using less fuel.
The new, plastic recycling cart base applies the company's novel design concept from its Poly-Trux(R) 72P bulk handling cart that has earned praise after five years performing in demanding, indoor-outdoor operations. “MOD’s plastic base is a lot better than traditional metal or wood bases,” says Randy Bernstein, Director Linen and Internal Transport Services for Maricopa Medical Center, Phoenix, Ariz. “I’m not worried about corrosion, it makes the cart lighter for the staffers to push and pull, it’s smooth and rounded for extra safety plus nothing happens to the walls if the corner of a cart bumps up against it.” The 50P-16R recycle collection cart handles 500-pound payloads of paper, glass, plastic, aluminum, C & D waste and other materials in a 21 square foot capacity bin. It fits three across in many trucks and trailers and nests when empty for efficient storage and transport.
