Formation, Inc. Releases Advanced Integrated Recorder (AIR) with Windows® Screen Recording Capability

MOORESTOWN, N.J., Jan. 31/ -- Formation, Inc., has enhanced the functionality of its Advanced Integrated Recorder (AIR) system by adding Microsoft Windows(R) screen recording capability. The AIR system, widely used in air traffic control (ATC) and air defense/C4I applications for after-action review, debriefing, incident investigation and legal recording purposes, previously offered X-Windows screen recording. Formation delivered its first Windows-compatible AIR system to the U.S. Navy, who will use it to record voice and radar data in addition to Windows screens, in a new C4I system.

AIR's added functionality enables all activities that occur on the screens of PCs and workstations employing the Windows 2000 or Windows XP operating systems to be recorded, capturing and time-tagging all mouse movements, menu selections, text entries and window views. The recordings can be replayed synchronously with voice communications, radar data, LAN data and video, providing an accurate re-creation of "what happened" in complex ATC, C4I or training scenarios.

"For many years, AIR has enabled X-Windows screen recording in civil and military systems that utilize the UNIX, AIX and Solaris operating systems," commented Doug Crawford, Formation's Product Director. "The additional screen recording capability addresses newer ATC and C4I systems that employ the Microsoft Windows operating system, as well as the training and simulation systems that have been using Windows for some time."

The AIR system is scaleable, expandable and provides any size facility the ability to recreate critical events, eliminate manual data correlation, and reduce liability risk. AIR configurations range from a stand-alone 1U (1.75 inch) server with as few as 4 voice channels, to a networked storage system supporting over 1000 screen, data and voice channels.

Formation will be demonstrating AIR in Stand 131 at ATC Maastricht 2006 at the Maastricht, Netherlands, Exhibition and Congress Centre (MECC) from February 14 to 16, 2006. For information please visit http://atcmaastricht.com/.
