EAGLEVILLE, PA - September 19, 2005 - Streamlight®, Inc., a leading manufacturer of high-performance flashlights for the professional utility and industrial safety markets, today announced it introduced the Streamlight FireBox(TM) rechargeable lantern, featuring dual ultra-bright taillight LEDs that enable workers to be seen in blackout conditions and other emergency situations regardless of which direction the light is shining.

Modeled after the Streamlight LiteBox®, a leading portable lantern, the FireBox's high-intensity halogen bi-pin bulb and dual LEDs can be programmed to produce a range of lighting combinations, including halogen only in steady or blinking mode, LEDs only in steady or blinking mode, or halogen and LEDs in steady and/or blinking mode. Depending on the selected lighting mode, run time is up to 8 hours (steady halogen bulb and LEDs) to up to 100 hours (blinking LEDs only). A three-position toggle switch enables users to switch between lighting modes.

"The FireBox's rear dual taillights, in combination with its rechargeability and candlepower and bulb configuration, make it the perfect light for the utility and industrial safety professional," said Walter Kaihatu, Streamlight Vice President of Sales and Marketing.

The FireBox's easily replaceable high-intensity halogen bi pin bulb provides a beam of up to 80,000 candlepower. The light is powered by a zero-maintenance, 6V, 12Ah lead acid battery that operates up to nine hours per charge and can be recharged up to 500 times.

The rugged lantern, measuring 11.5 inches and weighing 7.4 pounds, includes a high-impact, ABS thermoplastic housing with a rubberized impact bumper, lens ring and cushioned-grip handle that facilitates gripping the lantern with gloves.
