Cooper Wiring Devices Offers Advanced Line of Industrial Spec Grade and Hospital Grade Receptacles

Long Island City, New York, December 10, 2002 - Cooper Wiring Devices has introduced a newly redesigned line of Industrial Specification Grade and Hospital Grade devices to its wide range of straight blade receptacles. Manufactured to ensure maximum reliability, performance and safety, the new receptacles feature fiberglass-reinforced nylon base construction that provides superior structural strength and heat resistance.

The new line features Cooper's exclusive screw terminal guards to protect terminals from contact with conductive surfaces (metal boxes or wires), thus reducing the risk of short circuits throughout the operating life of the receptacle. The terminal guards also eliminate the need for time-consuming tape strapping. Another key benefit is Cooper's exclusive five-leaf solid brass plug blade contacts that provide low heat rise and long life. Eight easy-access, tapered internal backwiring lead-in slots accept wire up to #10 AWG, a major time saver compared to external backwire clamping of stranded wire. In addition, an exclusive ScrewCatch(TM) feature speeds final assembly of wallplates to the receptacle.

These many innovations combine to produce a device line made to withstand the heaviest abuse. A new brochure on the line also provides a complete list of Cooper's 15 and 20 amp receptacles. The product line meets all applicable UL498 and Federal Spec WC-596, as well as UL498 Hospital Grade requirements (where applicable) and is CSA Certified to C22.2 No. 42 standards.
