RDUP Adds Corning Cable Systems Ribbon Cables to its Listed Products, Adding to Corning's Complete Portfolio of RDUP-Listed FTTH Products

HICKORY, N.C. -- Corning Cable Systems, part of Corning Incorporated's (NYSE: GLW) Telecommunications segment, has been granted Rural Development Utilities Program (RDUP) listing for its SST-Ribbon(TM) Gel-Free and SST-UltraRibbon(TM) Cables. With this listing, Corning Cable Systems adds to its complete portfolio of fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) products listed by the RDUP, including both cable and hardware.

The RDUP recently updated its "List of Materials Acceptable for Use on Telecommunications Systems of RDUP Borrowers" to include Corning Cable Systems SST-Ribbon Gel-Free Cable in both dielectric and armored versions up to 216 fibers, as well as its SST-UltraRibbon Cable (gel-filled) in dielectric and armored versions available with 240-864 fibers.

In addition to the newly added products, the RDUP has previously listed Corning Cable Systems' OptiTect(TM) Advantage and Premier Local Convergence Point (LCP) Cabinets, OptiSheath(TM) Advantage MultiPort Terminals, OptiSheath Classic and Advantage Terminals and Closures, OptiDrop(TM) Pedestals, OptiFit® Advantage Drop Cable Assemblies and SST-Drop(TM), SOLO® and ALTOS® Cable families. With these extensive listings, Corning Cable Systems is the only manufacturer to have a complete tip-to-tip passive product portfolio including both cable and hardware listed by the RDUP.

The RDUP (formerly RUS), a division of the U.S. Department of Agriculture, offers loans and grants in order to increase the rate of deployment of technology to small towns in rural areas. RDUP acceptance allows service providers to purchase Corning Cable Systems products with these funds. The products are listed in the "List of Materials Acceptable for Use on Telecommunications Systems of RUS Borrowers." The complete list of products can be found at http://www.usda.gov/rus/telecom/index.htm.

These RDUP-listed products are part of Corning Cable Systems Evolant® Solutions.
