Stocko's Double Termination Rast Connector Accepts Two Wires
BURGAW, N.C. (August 15, 2002) - STOCKO Corp. a member of the Wieland Group, recently introduced a double termination RAST connector specifically designed for appliance/white goods applications. The insulation displacement contact (IDC) connector enables the termination of two conductors at one connection point. Designated the Double IDC ECO-DOMO, the connector utilizes a 5mm spacing which may be used for double- or single-wire connections.
"The double IDC connection enables designers to join several components over one common connection point, saving assembly time and reducing board space," said STOCKO Product Manager, Robert Ourt. "This connector provides the quick and dense connection required for domestic appliance production or other power supply applications."
The Double IDC ECO-DOMO connector is rated for 10A, 250V for wire sizes 18-20 AWG. The double flat spring contacts offer clean IDC connections that slice through a conductor's insulating materials for direct contact with the conductor. Connections may be terminated by hand or using STOCKO's line of automated termination machines.
In addition to domestic appliances and white goods, the 5mm spacing of the Double IDC ECO-DOMO connector may be used for power supply and grounding connections.
