Rapid Prototype and Production Cell Offers Simrit Xpress(TM) Seals in as Little as One Day
PLYMOUTH, Mich., February 11, 2004 - To provide its industrial seal customers with made-to-order products in as little as 24 hours, Simrit - a division of Freudenberg-NOK - recently introduced Simrit Xpress(TM) seals. Designed as a cost-effective solution for low quantity production or rapid prototypes, Simrit Xpress uses a computer numeric control (CNC) milling machine, integrated with computer software, to custom produce seals - usually in less than one day.

In the online pricing module, customers can change materials, view design limits based on material selections and input dimensions (inch and metric units). Once an order is created, it can be saved for additional review or purchase at a later date or processed immediately. One advantage is that the system will not accept an order or quote for a design that cannot be made, such as a cross-section that is too small.
Customers also receive other benefits with Simrit Xpress seals: there are no mold charges because the seals are machined on a CNC lathe; variations can be easily accommodated; molding issues such as knit lines, ejector pin markings and flash are eliminated; and the product can be held to extremely high tolerances.
