LSI Logic Launches 8-Port MegaRAID SATA II Storage Adapter

MILPITAS, Calif., Feb. 10 -- With its SATA II RAID launch at LinuxWorld, LSI Logic Corporation (NYSE:LSI) today announced orders are being accepted worldwide for the MegaRAID(R) SATA 300-8X, a point-to-point scalable eight-port adapter.
Optimized for use in Linux RedHat(R) and SuSE(R) environments, the MegaRAID SATA 300-8X will be demonstrated at LinuxWorld February 15-17 in Boston at the Hynes Convention Center along with Ultra320 SCSI, Serial Attached SCSI (SAS) and Fibre Channel Host Bus Adapters (HBAs) offering Linux OS support.
From booth #1609, LSI Logic will demonstrate:
-- MegaRAID SATA 300-8X point-to-point scalability and support for Linux RedHat and SuSE
-- Storage solutions for Linux including the LSI7102XP-LC Fibre Channel HBA, LSI20320-R Ultra320 SCSI HBA and the LSI3442X SAS HBA with speeds at 3Gb/sec. All three technologies will be running RedHat Advance Server on the same system.
