Radar Instrument provides bulk solids measurement.

Press Release Summary:

Two-wire VEGAPULS 68 uses frequency of 26 GHz to achieve strong return signal from solid materials. With 1,000x magnification of returned signals to sensor, unit is able to see and evaluate echoes in low dielectric conditions and over range up to 230 ft. Parabolic antenna emits consistent signal without interfering effects, making it insensitive to contamination and damage. Non-contact, maintenance-free device can be configured without changing process level.

Vegapuls 68

Ohmart/VEGA's VEGAPULS 68 is a two-wire radar instrument for the measurement of solids. The VEGPULS 68 combines the advantages of radar technology with the special requirements of bulk solids measurement.

Designed specifically to measure solid materials, the VEGAPULS 68 uses a frequency of 26 GHz to achieve a strong return signal form solid materials. With a 1000x magnification of returned signals to the sensor as compared to typical radar sensors, the VEGAPULS 68 is able to see and evaluate echoes in low dielectric conditions, and over a range of up to 230 feet. The precision-designed horn ensures low antenna noise and high sensitivity for optimal focusing, while the distinctive parabolic antenna emits a consistent signal without interfering effects, making it insensitive to contamination and damage through a recessed feed system. Its unique swivel antenna allows for mounting to match the angle of repose created by fill or empty conditions. The VEGAPULS 68 is non-contact and maintenance-free and can be configured without changing process level. The VEGAPULS 68 is unaffected by product characteristics such as dust or buildup, angle of repose, and temperature, and can be used on such applications including flour, sugar, cement, grain, plastic pellets, and aggregates.
