Seismically Qualified 19" Racks and Consoles

Haewa Corporation of Norcross, GA is adding to its cabinet and rack products a new line of custom built, seismically qualified 19" racks and consoles.

These 19" cabinets can be designed in many variations of single bay, two bay, three bay or four bay configurations. Generally, racks and consoles have front to back adjustable EIA rails or frame integrated mounting hole patterns. Vertical heights and depths are modified to customer specifications. Applications may include removable doors, bases, sides, special grounding systems, pre-wired power distribution, foamed-in-place gasketing, EMI/RFI shielding and ventilated and/or window equipped doors and panels.

The structures of seismic cabinets are seismically qualified by Finite Element Analysis (FEA) that permits computer based simulation and analysis of deformations and stresses on complex frame structures. Mass and mounting points for customer installed equipment are simulated in the analysis model and earthquake generated forces are simulated as input to the model. Thereby the maximal stresses are derived for the cabinet frame and its anchorage, as well as the deflection of the frame. Stability is verified in conjunction with material properties.
