NextComputing Introduces a Powerful, Versatile Rackmount Server

This is not your Typical Rackmount

NASHUA, NH - February 24, 2009 - NextComputing, known as the creators of the first flextop line of portable, high-performance servers and workstations, brings its open-standards FleXtreme(TM) architecture that made the flextop popular to a new breed of rackmount computer, the NextServer Evo.

Current users of NextComputing's Evo systems have enjoyed its versatile features like open standards architecture, flexible I/O options, upgradeability, high performance processing, massive storage capacities and extreme graphics capabilities. Current Evo models are available in two adaptable form factors - the NextDimension Evo packaged for commercial class high-end portable applications, and the Vigor Evo HD, ruggedized for deployed environments.

NextComputing has answered users' requests for a rackmount version with the NextServer Evo, which retains all of these features, in a compact, 3U chassis. This rackmount looks and performs like a server, but is also well suited for high-performance applications in industries like digital media, test and measurement, and within the government and military.

Users of the portable Evo models can further enhance their system lineup with rackmount servers based on the same modular architecture for painless plug and play integration. All of the same components and software will work in exactly the same way as the portable version.

"This feature set is extraordinary in a rackmount system. This is a perfect example of how you can take an existing good product and rework it to become something altogether new, but tested to be reliable and problem solving. This is exactly what we do for clients in our New Product Introduction. We allow them to offer innovative solutions as OEMs without any of the usual development costs and time associated with bringing a new product to market".

- Bob Labadini, President and CTO, NextComputing
