Overview
The IBM TotalStorage® 2101-200 Storage Solutions Rack was initially announced in Hardware Announcement 101-008 , dated January 16, 2001, with two power distribution units (PDUs) mounted in the rack as standard equipment. Each PDU contained six electrical power outlets. The new PDUs are in a side-mounted enclosure similar to the current PDUs and provide 12 outlets with an electrical current rating of 24 amperes, per PDU. The new PDUs in combination with the new power cord options support connections of the rack to 30-ampere branch circuits.
When ordering the 2101-200 rack, two PDUs are provided as standard, and two additional PDUs can be optionally added. Along with the new PDUs, there are new power cords that are selectable based on country. Existing 2101-200 racks, utilizing the current PDUs, can still be field upgraded with the current PDUs and power cords.
