PIDG FASTON Quick Connect Receptacles Now Fully Insulated
HARRISBURG, Pa., August 5 - Tyco Electronics today announced the availability of a fully insulated PIDG FASTON receptacle. These FASTON receptacles are similar to the current PIDG FASTON receptacle offering, but they are fully insulated. The additional insulation helps to prevent electrical shorts between terminals, while the metal support sleeve provides wire support for applications subject to high vibrations. Designers of power supplies, automobiles, lawn & garden power equipment and instrumentation can take advantage of the features of this product. Additionally, these products are suitable for motors and can be used in conjunction with tabbed terminal blocks.
The nylon insulation and support sleeve, allow the wire to bend in any direction without damaging the insulation or conductor. The receptacle accepts .250 x .032 tabs and accommodates 22-18, 16-14 and 12- 10 AWG wire ranges. The FASTON receptacle body is made from brass with a copper support sleeve. Tape packaging is available for high-speed wire termination on the AMP-O-LECTRIC Model G Press, Model K Press or Entry Level Terminator. Loose piece product is available and can be crimped with the TETRA-CRIMP hand tool.
