75 Watt Quarter Brick DC/DC Converter
Calex Mfg. Co., Inc. of Concord California announces the 75 Watt QL Series quarter brick DC/DC converter family. What sets the QL apart from other quarter bricks on the market is that the QL is potted with a thermally conductive potting compound and utilizes an aluminum baseplate resulting in superior thermal performance in still air or limited airflow environments. All this comes without a price penalty making the QL an ideal solution in such environments.
The QL Series utilizes synchronous rectification resulting in efficiencies in excess of 90%. The case operating temperature range is -40 to 100°C. The Thermal Impedance of the package in a still air environment is 9°C/W. The QL also features thermal shutdown. Case size is 2.28" x 1.45" x 0.50". Threaded through holes are provided to allow easy mounting or the addition of a heatsink for extended temperature applications.
The QL has a 2:1 input range, 18 to 36VDC or 36 to 75VDC. Output voltages are 1.5, 1.8, 2.5, 3.3 and 5VDC. Output noise runs as low as 30 mV peak to peak. Input to output isolation is 1544VDC. Standard features include remote sensing, output trim and remote on-off. On-off can be specified with either positive or negative logic.
