Quantum to Showcase Natural Gas Fuel System Innovations at the 2013 National Truck Equipment Association (NTEA) Show in Indianapolis

LAKE FOREST, Calif. - Quantum Fuel Systems Technologies Worldwide, Inc. (NASDAQ: QTWW), a global leader in natural gas storage systems, integration and vehicle system technologies, today announced that it will showcase its new line of Q-Lite™ ultra-light-weight compressed natural gas (CNG) tanks, demonstrate fully-integrated factory-assembled fuel systems and introduce new natural gas engine systems at the NTEA Work Truck Show to be held on March 5th in Indianapolis.

The technological innovations in the new Q-Lite series of on-board fuel storage tanks yield a lighter, but even more robust storage unit with improved volumetric and gravimetric efficiencies. Additionally, Quantum has evaluated and upgraded all other components and substituted new lighter weight materials including aircraft grade aluminum and premium polymers to reduce overall tank weight by an additional 8%.  These technological improvements and efficiencies combine to solidify Q-Lite as the lightest, highest capacity and competitive tank in the industry.

"Quantum has a demonstrated track record of providing natural gas fuel systems of exceptional quality, durability, and value for our customers," said Brian Olson, President and Chief Executive Officer of Quantum.

Quantum will also demonstrate its integrated fuel storage systems that leverage the industry-leading Q-Lite gaseous fuel storage technology and expertise in safety-critical structural design, high strength materials and topology optimization. Quantum will also introduce its fuel metering technology on a natural gas engine for medium to heavy duty applications.

Quantum designs, manufactures and markets one of the lightest and most advanced natural gas tanks and fuel storage systems in the world.  They are up to 80% lighter than competing steel tanks, and provide up to 30% more fuel capacity compared to competing aluminum tanks. Quantum is recognized around the world for its fuel storage systems, having sold more than 20,000 CNG fuel systems to General Motors and other customers.
