Quanta Selects Beceem's Wave 2 Chipset to Launch Its Mobile WiMAX Product Line

Industry leaders joining forces to enable M-Taiwan and Mobile WiMAX operators
Taipei , October 22, 2007: Beceem Communications, a leading provider of terminal chipsets for Mobile WiMAX, today announced that Quanta Computer, Inc. , a leading ODM for Notebooks and PC peripherals, has selected Beceem's BCS200 terminal chipset to develop products for the mobile computing market. Quanta and Beceem are collaborating on WiMAX products for many Mobile WiMAX networks being deployed by operators that are working with Beceem's infrastructure OEM partners.

Quanta has already developed a variety of Mobile WiMAX products , such as PC cards, Express Cards and USB Dongles , using Beceem's chipset . The prototypes are being field tested by mobile operators today , and commercial shipments are expected to commence in the fourth quarter of 2007.
