QUALCOMM and Telecom New Zealand Announce Agreement to Deploy uiOne(TM) Offering


SAN DIEGO, March 13 -- QUALCOMM Incorporated (NASDAQ:QCOM), a leading developer and innovator of Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA) and other advanced wireless technologies, today announced an agreement for customized user interface (UI) support, based on QUALCOMM's uiOne platform, with Telecom New Zealand, a leading Australasian communications provider. To be known as "Themes," the uiOne offering will initially be made available to Telecom's New Zealand customers with the Sanyo 7500 handset.

"Themes" represents an evolution of wallpapers and animated screensavers, allowing users to change both the background and the icons on the phone's three main screens: front/standby; main menu; and my favorites. "Themes" will cost NZ$4.95 to download.
