Medway, Massachusetts, USA - The Apshen Stencil Foil Adapter System for the DEK® VectorGuard® High Tension stencil frame, developed by Quick Tensioning Systems (QTS), won a coveted New Product Introduction (NPI) Award at IPC/APEX 2015 in San Diego, California. Apshen won in the “Screen/Stencil Printing Peripherals/Consumables” award category.
The QTS Apshen was developed to give DEK® VectorGuard™ High Tension stencil frame system users the ability to choose their own or preferred stencil foil provider, according to Thomas G. Erdmann, CEO and developer of the Apshen. “Until Apshen, VectorGuard users could only buy the specially-formed stencil foils that fit VectorGuard through DEK. Now, they can purchase them from whoever they choose.” He added that the patent- pending Apshen won’t compromise the VectorGuard system and does not infringe on any existing patents.
CIRCUITS ASSEMBLY'S New Product Introduction (NPI) Awards recognize the leading new products for electronics assembly during the past 12 months. Awards are selected by an independent panel of practicing industry engineers, and are presented at the annual IPC/APEX Exposition and Conference. “We’re very pleased to receive this significant industry recognition of our efforts, and more importantly, this honor and encouragement,” Erdmann said.
Apshen is made of durable aluminum extrusion and injection molded nylon parts; it’s a 2-part assembly that simply snaps together around the edges of a stencil foil. This simple, single-molded system requires no maintenance, is simple to clean and store, and is designed to last for the life of the stencil. It never needs to be replaced or repaired. Space-saving Apshen enables storage of 4-6 foils in the space used by a standard frame.
