NURNBERG, Germany, Embedded World 2006, Feb. 14 / -- QNX Software Systems today announced that it is introducing support for the Intel® Core(TM) Duo Processors T2500 and L2400 and for the Mobile Intel 945GM Express chipset. When combined, the Intel Core Duo Processors and the QNX® Neutrino® Multi-Core Technology Development Kit (TDK), the industry's only comprehensive software foundation for leveraging the power of multi-core processors, can speed the time-to-market of embedded solutions.
The Intel Core Duo Processors blend the high performance of dual-core processing with power management to deliver greater performance for embedded applications. The Mobile Intel 945GM Express chipset offers improved graphics and increased I/O bandwidth along with improved storage speed and reliability, and low power consumption.
The QNX Neutrino Multi-Core TDK provides an integrated set of OS features that enable software engineers to quickly build reliable, high-performance embedded products that leverage the latest generation of multi-core processors. In addition to offering both asymmetric (AMP) and symmetric multiprocessing (SMP) capabilities, the TDK is the first solution to offer bound multiprocessing (BMP), an innovative "hybrid" capability that combines the superior resource management of SMP with the application control of AMP.
