QAD Supports ERP Consolidation of Two Magna International Subsidiaries

GXE flexibility leads to a rapid 23 day implementation for Decoma and Intier Automotive

United Kingdom - 21st July, 2006 - QAD Inc. (NASDAQ: QADI), a leading provider of enterprise software applications for global manufacturers, today announced that Decoma (Merplas) UK Ltd and Intier Automotive succeeded in a 23 day data migration and implementation of QAD GXE, the Global Enterprise Edition, QAD's flagship software application. The flexibility and ease of integration of QAD's software will enable the parent company Magna International Inc. to drive synergies between its two subsidiaries Decoma and Intier.

Over an incredible time period of 23 days, Intier Automotive migrated from a version of QAD MFG/PRO that was five years old and a legacy of its previous status as a Johnson Controls company to a QAD GXE platform hosted at Decoma's own site. Decoma had the in-house resources, implementation experience and IT infrastructure to step forward and assist its sister company with its migration needs. In addition to assisting Intier's data migration, Decoma streamlined its own systems, clearing a path to the intended migration from QAD MFG/PRO to QAD GXE in the near future

Garry Bowers, IT Manager at Decoma, commented: "The flexibility, ease of implementation and integration of QAD's software, the desire and focus of local IT teams and the support and experience of QAD's consultants enabled us to successfully implement the system within 23 days. QAD has allowed us to actively bring the two companies' updated IT systems together on to one site and one platform."

The Intier team extracted their data from the system based in Germany and used spreadsheets in the process of cleansing and moving its static data to the Decoma site. An Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) Gateway was established for Intier to upload orders from OEM customers such as Jaguar, with a server and mailbox operating separately from Decoma's own system.

Jean-Claude Walravens, Vice President of QAD EMEA, commented: "We are very pleased that the implementation has taken place so successfully and within the required timeframe, and credit QAD's consultants and Decoma's & Intier's in-house teams for the complex data migration from the Intier site. Our consultants are industry, product and technology experts and are thoroughly trained, experienced and certified in QAD applications.

Overlay this skill set with best practice knowledge of the vertical markets we serve and our customers are assured smooth project implementation, effective knowledge transfer and rapid ROI."

Garry Bowers continued: "At Decoma itself, we plan to migrate our own system to QAD GXE, the Global Enterprise Edition. Also with the array of new functionality in QAD GXE, we will implement new software modules on a business priority basis. Although a total move to lean manufacturing is some way off, we plan to pave the way this year by putting the foundations in place as part of this upgrade. The understanding of our market which QAD's consultants possess and offerings such as the QAD e-Learning Portal will be just as essential for us during this process as the technical features and benefits of QAD applications."
