PXI Switching Modules address ARINC 608A specifications.

Press Release Summary:

Offered as 4- or 8-slot BRIC module, 40-569 integrates 16-wire analog bus with BUS Matrix cards and Resource Distributor cards. Scalable design permits inclusion of up to 2 off Resource Distributor subsystems and 6 off Bus Matrix subsystems. Also available, 40-618 Source Switching Module implements switching functions defined in Appendix D of ARINC specification. Each module can be supported in any 3U PXI chassis or Pickering Interfaces LXI Modular Switching Chassis.

Original Press Release:

Introduction of Two New PXI Switching Modules Designed Specifically to Address Requirements for ARINC 608A Switching/Aerospace Market

Clacton on Sea, UK February 27th, 2008 --Pickering Interfaces is expanding its range of products for the Aerospace market with the introduction of two new PXI switching modules designed specifically to address requirements for ARINC 608A switching. The products can be supported in any 3U PXI chassis, but in addition they can supported in a Pickering Interfaces LXI Modular Switching Chassis.

The 40-569 is a 4 or 8 slot BRIC module which integrates a 16 wire analog bus with BUS Matrix cards and Resource Distributor cards in accordance with Appendix D of the ARINC 608 Specification. The scalable design permits the inclusion of up to 2 off Resource Distributor sub systems and 6 off Bus Matrix subsystems into a single switching entity.

The 40-618 is a Source Switching Module which implements the switching functions defined in Appendix D of the ARINC specification. Each module includes 44 off SPST switches and 12 banks of 4 channel multiplexers.

Both designs are implemented in a 3U PXI format that is compatible with the 60-100 LXI Modular Switching Chassis, permitting the modules to be controlled through either a PXI or an LXI compliant interface.

Pickering Interfaces has worked with MAC Panel to ensure that a commercially available Scout mass interconnect system is available to simplify integration into Aerospace test systems.

Shaun Fuller, Switching Product Manager for Pickering Interfaces commented "The 40-569 and 40-618 simplify the creation of ARINC compliant test systems by providing low cost and highly integrated solutions for the switching functions defined in the ARINC 608A specification. The high levels of integration result in a compact solution that is easy to control through PXI or LXI interfaces. Not only are these switching modules more competitive than previous solutions, they also allow far more competitive & better characterized mass interconnect."
