PXI Modules switch signals up to 150 V and 0.5 A.

Press Release Summary:

Supported by 60-100 LXI Modular Switching Chassis, single-slot 3U Series 40-540 supports matrix with up to 528 crosspoint switches organized as 132 x 4, 66 x 8, or 33 x 16. Instrument-grade ruthenium reed relays are used throughout design. Maintenance down time is minimized through use of leaded relays as opposed to surface mount devices. Modules come configured at requested size of matrix, eliminating need for additional terminal blocks.

Pickering Interfaces Introduces Worlds Highest Density Single Slot 3U PXI Modules

Clacton on Sea, May 15th, UK -Pickering Interfaces, the leading supplier of PXI switching modules, is expanding its line of PXI switching modules with the introduction of a family of the world's highest density matrix in a single slot PXI module, 40-540/1/2. The 40-540 family can be used in any PXI chassis and is supported by Pickering Interfaces 60-100 LXI Modular Switching Chassis. Each switching module supports a matrix with up to 528 crosspoint switches organized as 132x4 (40-540), 66x8 (40-541) or 33x16 (40-542) matrix and can switch signals up to 150 V and 0.5 Amps.

The 40-540 family has been designed to reduce the cost to the user of purchasing and maintaining their switching solution. Each module can be purchased as a partially loaded version to reduce the initial purchase cost In addition, the modules come already configured at the requested size of matrix, so the user does not need to purchase additional terminal blocks and spend time configuring and testing the matrix.

High quality instrument grade ruthenium reed relays are used throughout the design to ensure the very best switching performance at all voltages and currents with a very long service life. Maintenance down time is minimized through the use of leaded relays in preference to difficult to service surface mount devices. Repairs can be easily carried out by any competent service engineer without risking damage to other relays or having to return the module back to the manufacturer's factory or service centre.

The 40-540 is fully supported by Pickering's extensive range of connector, cable and breakout accessories, allowing users to generate a single order for covering all their switching and connectivity solutions.

David Owen, Business Development Manager, commented "By paying careful attention to all aspects of the design of the 40-540 family Pickering Interfaces has ensured that the cost of purchasing, configuring, integrating and maintaining the switching module is minimized. Users can expect a better a better experience in purchasing and owning a Pickering Interfaces switch solution"
