ADLINK's PXI Starter for Seamless Migration to PXI from Conventional IPC Platforms
Package includes a 3U 8-slot PXI Chassis and PCI-PXI Extension Kit
Irvine, CA (September 30, 2004) - ADLINK Technology,a leading provider of PXI modules and platforms, announces the PXI Starter, a special product offering to integrate PXI platforms in data acquistion or automated measurement systems. The ADLINK PXI Starter includes a 3U 8-slot chassis and a PCI-PXI extension kit. Customers can easily utilize a PXI chassis with their existing IPC or desktop computer using the PCI-PXI extension kit. This special package is offered for an introductory of $1950 until November 30, 2004.
The PXIS-2630 is a 19" 3U PXI chassis with seven PXI peripheral slots and is equipped with an industrial grade 400W ATX power supply. The power supply, temperature, and cooling fans are all monitored by a built-in alarm in the chassis. A warning LED and alarm are activated if a failure is detected.
The PCI-PXI Extension Kits works as a transparent PCI-PCI bridge register set and provides direct control of the PXIS-2630 chassis from an IPC or desktop computer. One master extension card can link up to two slave extension modules, allowing a single IPC or desktop computer to simultaneously control two PXI chassis. The two links can be bundled to support the full bandwidth of a 64-bit/66MHz PCI bus (528MB/s peak). The PCI-PXI Extension Kit includes two cards - the PCI-8570 and PXI-8570 - and a 6 1/2-foot copper shielded copper cable.
