PXI Module builds high channel-count systems.

Press Release Summary:

Model PXI-6653 timing and synchronization module offers clock generation and signal routing for multichassis synchronization of high-channel-count systems. Board can be used to build systems with up to 40,000 channels and improve single-chassis system timing. Providing tight synchronization between modules in one PXI chassis, product features onboard routing of clock, PXI trigger, and star trigger signals and generates precise clocks with 711 nHz resolution.

New National Instruments PXI Module Delivers Precise Synchronization for High-Channel-Count Systems

AUSTIN, Texas - Feb. 17, 2004 - Engineers and scientists now can use the new National Instruments (Nasdaq: NATI) PXI-6653 timing and synchronization module to build high-channel-count systems with up to 40,000 channels and improve single-chassis system timing.

The timing and synchronization module offers clock generation and signal routing for multichassis synchronization of high-channel-count systems. The module also offers tight synchronization between modules in a single PXI chassis. It features onboard routing of clock, PXI trigger and star trigger signals; can import and export a high-stability reference; and generates precise clocks with 711 nHz resolution. The PXI-6653 module simplifies system development and improves accuracy by eliminating issues with cable length matching and propagation delays that challenge traditional rack-and-stack test systems.

The NI PXI-6653 module is ideal for automotive, ATE, military/aerospace, control and scientific research applications that require acquisition or generation of many tightly synchronized channels, such as acquisition from an antenna array, acoustic holography and structural testing. The module works with a variety of development software including NI LabVIEW and NI LabWindows/CVI. It also works seamlessly with all PXI hardware including the NI PXI 100 MS/s mixed-signal suite.
