New NI Eight-Slot PXI Chassis Delivers Precision Timing and Synchronization

NEWS RELEASE -- Jan. 7, 2003 -- National Instruments today announced its latest eight-slot PXI chassis for real-time, automated test, and data acquisition (DAQ) applications. The NI PXI-1042 chassis delivers high performance with a low-jitter internal reference clock and external clock connectors for precision timing and synchronization.

The chassis, which incorporates the features of the latest PXI specification, is an excellent platform for bench-top or rack-mounted test and control systems. It combines a high-performance, eight-slot backplane with a high-output power supply, integrated cooling, and compact structural design. The chassis also features enhanced fan control and remote power inhibit and monitoring.

The versatile PXI chassis is ideal for a range of measurement and automation applications in many industries, such as aerospace and automotive. With its compact design, the chassis works well for portable test and DAQ applications. The new external reference clock connectors make the PXI-1042 chassis a good choice for applications that require multichassis synchronization.

The chassis integrates with all PXI hardware products and a variety of software, including NI LabVIEW, LabWindows/CVI, Measurement Studio, TestStand, and Switch Executive. For a copy of the latest PXI specification, visit pxisa.org.
