Sipex Introduces First Product of 28 Volt Controller Family
(Milpitas, CA - March 24, 2004) - Sipex Corporation (NASDAQ: SIPX), a leading provider of high performance, analog integrated circuits (ICs), today introduced the SP6132HV, a high voltage, synchronous step-down PWM controller. Capable of handling input voltages up to 28V, the SP6132HV is an ideal solution for stepping down DC input voltages ranging from 3.3V up to 28V in automotive, mobile phone base stations, trains, marine equipment and 24V industrial systems. Additional voltage handling capability has been added to the top side driver for enhancing the N-channel MOSFET gate up to 33V.
The SP6132HV utilizes a highly efficient PWM architecture that drives dual NFET switches with efficiencies as high as 94%. The device features a programmable output voltage range down to 0.8V and maintains 1.5% accuracy over a wide range of input line, output load, and temperature conditions. Internal 2A gate drivers provide load current capability as high as 30A.
