Lighted Pushbuttons Feature High Security
APEM's cosmetically attractive panel mounting AV series pushbutton switches provide a high degree of security in harsh environments. They are ideal for use in applications where control panels are in high traffic or unsupervised locations. Examples are numerous and include ATM machines, security surveillance and alarm panels and process control panels.
The AV's incorporate numerous design features to protect them against rough or abusive treatment. These include;
* A robust and durable metal bezel with a low profile shape that prevents attempts to remove the switch from the front of the panel.
* Anti-jamming construction that consists of minimal clearance between the switch bezel and actuator, as well as reduced actuator travel, that prevents the insertion of foreign parts.
* A solid mechanical stop inside the metal bezel to prevent crushing of the contacts and mechanism.
* Sealing options from minimal dust and water splash resistance (IP54) to fully dust-tight and resistant to water jets from any direction (IP65).
The more recently added L option models feature L.E.D. illumination and are ideal in applications where visual mode or status indication is needed. Red, green or yellow, as well as a two color red/green L. E.D. are offered. These models have a white thermoplastic actuator with a choice of standard markings.
The L option models are single poles with normally open action and have separate L.E.D. terminals. Electrical rating is 50 mA at 24 VDC resistive, with a life of 1,000,000 minimum cycles. The 22mm bezel fits into a 19mm panel hole and projects only .079" from the front of the panel and approx. 5/8" behind.
