NKK Switches Announces GB2 Series Pushbutton Switches
Scottsdale, Ariz. (Sept. 29, 2003) - Leading the industry in creating reliable and effective design solutions, NKK Switches today expanded its product offerings with the GB2 series of ultra-thin, ultra-miniature pushbutton switches specifically designed for communications, instrumentation, telecom and hand-held instrument industries.
The thin size of the GB2 series allows high density PCB mounting, which makes these devices ideal for applications with limited board space and those requiring operator interfaces. GB2 series pushbuttons are also ideal for block or ganged mounting, a preferred method of mounting in tight spaces. The unique off-center plunger design also ensures against accidental actuation.
The GB2 series switches feature NKK Switches' world-renowned STC contact mechanism, which provides logic-level switching reliability and a positive, smooth detent actuation. The STC contacts also self-clean with each actuation.
The GB2 series pushbuttons are momentary circuit and single pole single throw, featuring an OFF-momentary ON configuration. They are rated at 0.4VA maximum @ 28V AC/DC maximum. The bodies of these devices are a mere 7-mm high, 7-mm wide and 2.5-mm thick. The mechanical and electrical life is guaranteed at 50,000 operations minimum.
Engineers can order the GB2 series in straight PC, straight PC with support bracket, and right angle bracketed PC in either a single or double switch mounted configuration. The PC footprint is a standard .100" X .100" for easy PCB layout. Terminals are molded-in and epoxy sealed to lock out flux and other contaminants.
