APEM Introduces IA Series of Low Profile Pushbutton Switches

Ideal for Applications Demanding Protection from Harsh Contaminants

Haverhill, MA - APEM Components, Inc., a leading manufacturer of high quality miniature and industrial switches, introduces its new IA Series of low profile pushbutton switches. Complementing APEM's line of sealed miniature pushbutton switches, the IA Series is ideally suited for applications requiring protection from dust, sand, water and other contaminants. Potential applications include: off-road vehicles, farm equipment, marine, machine tools, food processing equipment, and medical instrumentation.

Normally Open (NO) and Normally Closed/Normally Open (NC/NO) combined electrical functions are available. Electrical and general specifications include power ratings of 2 amps maximum at 24VDC resistive load and an electrical life of 1 million cycles at full load. Operating temperatures range from -40°C to +85°C. Additionally, APEM's IA Series pushbuttons feature wire lead terminals and have a bushing size of 16mm (.629). Seven plunger colors are available.

APEM's IA Series features a polyurethane membrane that depresses when the switch is actuated. The membrane provides an IP67 front-of-panel seal which ensures high resistance to frost, sand and hydrocarbons. The actuator material provides a soft feel and tactile response which allows ease of operation, even with gloved hands. The IA Series' low profile design facilitates easy actuation when the switches are matrix mounted.
