Pushbutton Switch uses magnet and Hall Effect sensor.

Press Release Summary:

Sealed to IP67, IHS Hall Effect Pushbutton Switch is protected against immersion in water 15 cm to 1 m deep for 30 min. Contactless switching is achieved using Hall Effect sensor that varies output voltage in response to changes in magnetic field. Rated for 28 Vdc at 50 mA, switch features supply voltage of 3.5-24 Vdc and expected life of 5 million cycles. In off position, switch consumes 2.5-5 mA.

Apem Introduces IHS Hall Effect Pushbutton Switch

Contactless switching using a Hall Effect sensor

Haverhill, MA, - APEM Components, a leading manufacturer of quality switches and joysticks, introduces the IHS Hall Effect Pushbutton Switch, a contactless pushbutton switch that uses a magnet and a Hall Effect sensor, a transducer that varies its output voltage in response to changes in magnetic field. Hall Effect sensors are used for proximity switching, positioning, speed detection, and current sensing applications.

The IHS is extremely durable, and is rated for 5 million cycles. It is sealed to IP67, so it is protected against the effects of being immersed in water 15 centimeters to 1 meter deep for 30 minutes. The switch's elastomeric seal construction ensures a reliable seal while providing the IHS with a unique feel.

The IHS switches are rated for 28 volts direct current (VDC) at a maximum of 50 milliampere (mA). Supply voltage ranges from 3.5VDC to 24VDC with an expected life of 5 million cycles. In the off position, the IHS switch consumes 2.5mA to 5mA.
