Original Press Release:

Tell the Whole Story in One Switch with Series 56

Do you need a switch that's immediately recognizable as a control and designed to encourage use from the disabled? EAO, the experts in Human Machine Interfaces, presents the Series 56 - a pushbutton that tells the whole story in one switch.

It's bright front bezel and LED 'halo' illumination makes the Series 56 easily identified and helps focus attention on a particular control.

The low actuation force makes these switches ideal for use in applications interfacing with disabled users. The large touch surface of the actuator can be offered with a range of raised symbols, as well as Braille characters on the bezel - an exceptional way to define switch function. A variety of standard legends including Door Open/Close, Up/Down, Lock/Unlock are offered. For additional contrast, the switch lenses are available in red, green, blue, yellow, or natural aluminum to enhance the display of the black symbols/text. The brightly colored contrasting bezels, with optional Braille text and 'halo' illumination, again help identify the touch area for visually impaired users.

The tough thermoplastic housing and metal lens, along with meeting IP67 standards from the front panel, make the Series 56 one of EAO's most rugged products. The Series 56 is vandal resistant and can be used either inside or outside for numerous applications including door, toilet, (ie: Door Open, Lock, Flush), and emergency controls.

EAO has also developed an illuminated indicator which complements the Series 56 pushbutton range. This indicator remains dark until activated. Once activated, illumination of a symbol or legend, such as "Door Out of Order" or "Engaged", occurs. As with the pushbuttons, customers can choose from a selection of LED-illuminated color options and a range of symbols/legends in different languages.
