Amphenol Industrial Operations Introduces Easy to Use Push-Pull Connectors



Sidney, NY, February 2006 -- Amphenol Industrial Operations, a manufacturer of high reliability connectors and interconnection systems for industrial markets, has introduced a new series of push-pull aluminum shell connectors that allow quick mating and unmating of the connector. The Amphe-PPM series provides signal and power interconnects in medical electromechanical instrumentation and process control applications.

Amphe-PPM connectors are available in a wide variety of configurations. Amphe-PPM non-sealed connectors are offered in 12 mm or 16 mm housings with two to 12 contacts of 1.0 mm to 2.5 mm in diameter. The rear accessory can be either a rubber boot or cable clamp. Amphe-PPM sealed connectors are offered in 10 mm, 12 mm, 16 mm and 18 mm housings. They come with two to 14 contacts of 0.8 mm to 2.5 mm in diameter.

The shells of both non-sealed and sealed connectors are available with a non-reflective nickel finish; the non-sealed connectors are also offered with a black epoxy finish. Both types are available in three styles: box mount receptacle, jam nut receptacle and straight plug. Pin contacts are brass and socket contacts are copper alloy.

The new connectors are designed to IEC 61984 with a flammability rating of UL94V-0 and IP55 to IP67 sealing. Operating temperature range is -40°C (-40°F) to +100°C (+212°F).

Pricing for an Amphe-PPM starts at $17 for a mated pair. Delivery is four weeks ARO.
