Electro-Mech Introduces Momentary Push-Button Switches with Dual and Quad-Lamp Design for Redundancy and Brightness

SOUTH EL MONTE, Calif. - Dec. 17, 2002 - Electro-Mech's new SW44217 and SW44220 Pushbutton Momentary Switches offer dual and quad-lamp design for maximum lamp/LED redundancy and brightness. The new switches are ideally suited for use as warning lights in industrial and avionics displays, audio controls, instrument panel controls, and other high-density panel applications where high illumination and reliability are important requirements.

The snap-feel illuminated pushbutton switches feature gold plated contacts, and interchangeable lenses with clear top cover, black opaque sides, and legend plates (red standard). Legends are 0.125" high with black fill to create easily read status signals. Designed to accommodate up to four T-1 (3mm) Sub Midget Flange based lamps or LEDs (Model SW44220), the switches provide an excellent means of safety backup and redundant reliability, with the added brightness of multiple LEDs/lamps.

The compact switches measure only 0.75 inches square and require about 1.6 inches of space behind the display panel. The new switches mount easily into a standard 0.698" square hole via back up bracket using a 2-56 x 3/16-inch Philips head screw. Interconnection is provided with standard solder lug terminals and accepts 20 AWG wire, or can be provided with PCB pin terminals or wire harness.

The SW44217 and SW44220 switches are rated at 30 VDC or 115 VAC, 2A resistive, 0.5A inductive. Other features include operating pressures of 16 oz. (± 4oz.) for Model SW44217 and 32 oz. (± 8oz.) for model SW44220, and a rated switch life of 100,000 minimum actuations.

Unit pricing and delivery is available on request.
