PureSpectrum, Inc. Set to Test Low Wattage CFL Prototype

11.8W lamp engineered to match light output of 60W incandescent bulb.

SAVANNAH, Ga., July 25 -- PureSpectrum, Inc. (OTC Pink Sheets: PSPM) is preparing to test an 11.8-watt Compact Fluorescent Lamp (CFL) prototype bulb that has been engineered to produce the equivalent light output of a 60W incandescent bulb.

PureSpectrum owns the rights to multiple patents related to a technology to improve the electronic ballasts which power fluorescent lighting. The company hopes to license the technology both in the United States and internationally, and the prototype was built to match specifications provided by an overseas lighting manufacturer which has been in discussions with PureSpectrum since May. Photometric testing on the prototype will take place within the next week at Intertek, a NVLAP-certified lab and one of the leading testing facilities for the lighting industry.

The U.S. Department of Energy's Energy Star program recommends that consumers replace 60W incandescent bulbs with a 13W CFL bulb which can match the 60W bulb's light output of 800 lumens. But manufacturers in countries which are on the threshold of exponentially expanding their electrical grids are searching for even more energy conservation solutions which will tax their energy infrastructure as little as possible.

"We recognize that in order to license PureSpectrum Technology on a global level, we need to meet the requirements of manufacturers outside of the United States," said PureSpectrum president and CEO Lee Vanatta. "We know there are countries on the verge of offering electricity to a much larger segment of their populations, and the message we are hearing loudly and clearly is that these countries are searching for products and technologies which offer enhanced energy efficiency."

The recently developed PureSpectrum prototype, using PureSpectrum's modified half-bridge ballast technology, is compatible with variable voltage configurations commonly found outside of the United States. Vanatta anticipates that engineering the technology to meet specific conditions should open further international licensing opportunities for PureSpectrum.

"Based on the dialogue we have had with international manufacturers, we feel like our engineers have proven that the technology is robust enough and flexible enough to accommodate a diverse array of conditions," said PureSpectrum president and CEO Lee Vanatta. "We know that successful testing will accelerate our dialogue with these manufacturers and lead to a licensing partnership in the short term and an entrance into several other international markets."
