Strippit/LVD Introduces New Series of Global 30 CNC Turret Punch Presses

Akron, NY--Strippit/LVD introduces four models of 30-ton punch presses to its line of Global CNC turret presses. The new Global 30 machines expand the company's Global family of products, which includes both 20-ton and 30-ton models and automatic material handling systems.

Global 30 turret punch presses are offered with various table sizes ranging from the Global 1215 model that handles workpieces up to 59.4" x 49.2" (1500 x 1250 mm) to the Global 1525 which accommodates workpieces up to 98.2" x 59.4" (2500 x 1500 mm). Production rates of up to 900 HPM on .062" (1,6 mm) centers and a marking rate of 1500 SPM can be achieved. Global 30 machines can process material up to 0.250" (6,3mm) thick.

The servo-driven hydraulic ram delivers 30 tons of punching force. Fully programmable stroke profiles and the exclusive Smart Stroke® feature maximize punching performance and provide flexibility for punching and forming applications.

Smart Stroke® maximizes the productivity of Global 30 machines without operator or programmer intervention. Smart Stroke automatically optimizes the punch cycle by determining the hover height based on material thickness and distance between holes. This high-speed hydraulic system is capable of producing at 800 strokes per minute.

All Global 30 punch presses feature a 30-station turret with station-to-station tool change of less than 1 second. Replaceable, hardened steel guide bushings eliminate turret tool bore wear. The turret punch press is available with up to four 3.5" (88,9 mm) auto-index stations. Three auto-index stations are standard with each model. Turret capacity can be further increased with the addition of 3- or 8-station indexable Multi-Tools to expand the number of auto-indexable tools. A thin or thick style turret configuration is offered.

A state-of-the-art, PC-based GE Fanuc 180i control speeds set-up and provides powerful features such as diagnostics, increased program storage capacity and networking.

Global 30 punch presses provide ±.004"(0,1 mm) finished part accuracy and ±.002" (0,05 mm) finished part repeatability with axis speed of 3150 IPM (80 m/min). The large table can be equipped with a combination of brushes and roller balls or a full brush tabletop for superior sheet support and smooth, quiet operation.

Strippit/LVD's Global 30 models also feature two to three programmable, relocatable work clamps, which can be programmed to a position on the X carriage and individually relocated to a new position within the part program. This reduces or eliminates the "no punch" zones. A large 15.7" x 17.7" (400 x 450mm) Programmable Drop Door further adds to productivity. Material handling can be automated with the addition of an automatic sheet loading/unloading system and parts sorting device. Strippit/LVD's automatic load/unload system reduces manual worksheet handling and provides fast, efficient processing of materials up to .135" (3,5 mm).

The space-saving design loads and unloads material from the same side of the turret punch press. Both loading of raw material and unloading of finished nests is handled at the front of the unit away from the loader head, providing convenient access to the pallets from one side using a forklift.

The automatic load/unload system accommodates sheets up to 49.2" x 98.4 (1250 x 2500 mm) for processing of large workpieces or multiparts. More compact than comparable material handling systems, the system features a full brush table configuration to reduce part scratching. The system is available on the 1225 and 1525 models of Global 30 machines.

Strippit/LVD is a leading manufacturer of metalforming equipment, including laser cutting machines, CNC turret punch presses, flexible fabricating systems, press brakes, shears, and programming software.
